UPP to sue govt over state enterprises

The United Progressive People’s Party (UPP) says it is ready to take legal action against government should it commence the sale of state owned enterprises.

UPP President Savior Chishimba has disclosed that its legal team has completed the paper work in respect of the court action for which they are prepared to execute.

He says their evidence includes the fact that foreign buyers are already pre determined alleging that they shall adduce evidence to the effect that some of the political leaders received millions of dollars from the potential buyers.

Dr. Chishimba says the recent increase in fuel prices and electricity tariffs in 2017 is meant to make the expected foreign owners to generate quick money and recover all that they spent on the leaders.

He states that this is why it is important for the country to quickly come up with a law for political parties to disclose their funders.
