The Born Short Living Tall (BSLT) has embarked on a three month project called “Accelerate” aimed at empowering the underprivileged with knowledge and skills to help them start their own businesses.

BSLT Executive Director Pastor Chisha Ntalasha tells QTV News that it is a shame to see disabled people on wheelchairs begging on the streets and this is why his organization has started this project to help such individuals.

Pastor Ntalasha says, the K128, 000 worth project which is targeting 3,300 vulnerable Lusaka City residents, is aimed at helping the country attain the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure prosperity for all as part of a new sustainable development agenda.

Pastor Ntalasha says it is worth noting that building a viable National vision begins with making these deliberate steps and that the economic collapse is as a result of not having a National Vision.

He has observed the need for all stakeholders to supplement government efforts when it comes to empowerment saying government has a lot of other programmes to attend to.

The BSLT Executive Director explains to QTV News that under this project, the organisation will provide free computer and entrepreneurship trainings to the beneficiaries as well as agri-business empowerment during this first phase of the project.

Pastor Ntalasha has since urged government to continue creating an enabling environment for NGOs to empower the less privileged in society.
