Economic recovery depends on prudence – YALI

Government has been advised to realize that Zambia’s economic recovery depends more on formulating prudent economic policies.

The Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) thinks that Country’s economy can put out from its current status if government comes up with consistent and predictable policies.

YALI president Andrew Nthewewe says with such policies it may not even be necessary for government to enter into a financial support deal with the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

Mr. Nthewewe says his organization is thus of the view that the debate that has been going on, on the IMF in absence of the 2017 is not necessary.

He says YALI believes that it is possible for government to actually use the 2017 national budget to raise the funds it wants to borrow from the IMF to stir economic recovery.
