2017 national budget to have provision for emergencies

Government says the 2017 national budget will have a provision for emergencies across the country.

Responding to a question from Kanchibiya Member of Parliament Martin Malama who wanted to know whether government is aware that some classroom blocks and staff houses in kanchibiya collapsed in September 2016, and what measures they have put in place to mitigate the problem, Office of the Vice President Minister Sylvia Chalikosa says government through the ministry of education will facilitate the continued learning at the two affected schools.

She says the collapsed Schools were old having been constructed in 1969.

Meanwhile, Vice President Inonge Wina has reiterated Government’s commitment to address the disasters the country may face.

Ms. Wina says government is doing everything possible to ensure that all dilapidated infrastructures especially schools are worked on once the funds are available.
