The Forum for Development and Democracy (FDD) has called on government to reach consensus with all stakeholders on its plan to hold another referendum to adopt the remaining part of the constitution.

FDD Spokesperson Antonio Mwanza says there is need for Justice Minister Given Lubinda to call for a stakeholders meeting and agree on the road map and the time table for having a Referendum.

Mr. Mwanza has called on the Justice Minister to propose for a legal framework which seeks to guide and protect the process of the referendum.

He fears that failure to call for a stakeholders meeting the referendum will once again fail because if the country is to have a successful referendum which requires sensitization.

Mr. Mwanza is reminding government to learn the lessons from the first Referendum that was held alongside general election and put into considerations all the reasons that led to the failure of the exercise.

He says if the PF government fails to listen to stakeholders, he has predicted that the Referendum is bound to fail.
