The long awaited long list of successful teachers recruited by government has been published in the two government newspapers, The Zambia Daily Mail and Times of Zambia.

The publishing of the names of the 30,496 teachers caused the delay in the circulation of the two newspapers which only went into circulation after 09:00 hours.

Anxious waiting prospective teachers positioned themselves at newspaper selling points in Lusaka with others strategically positioning themselves at the Zambia Daily Mail and Times of Zambia offices.

And Chief Government Spokesperson and Information and Media Minister Chushi Kasanda says the recruitment of over 30,000 teachers is a demonstration of the importance that the new dawn government has placed on education as a critical ingredient in the development of the country.

Ms Kasanda says the recruitment is a fulfillment of one of the major pronouncements to transform the country that President Hakainde Hichilema made soon after coming into office 11 months ago.

She says it’s unprecedented in the history of the country that over 30,000 teachers can be recruited in a single year.

Ms Kasanda states that Zambians have high expectations of the newly recruited teachers to deliver to the best of their abilities when they finally enter the classrooms to teach.

She has implored the recruited teachers to take their work seriously in imparting knowledge in the young people who are the future leaders of the country.

meanwhile Patriotic Front Media Director Antonio Mwanza has applauded the new dawn Government for finally publishing names of successful teachers.

In a statement, Mr Mwanza says the publishing of the names is a key step towards the actual recruitment of the shortlisted individuals.

He has appealed to the Government to hastily actualise the recruitment of the shortlisted teachers by putting them on PMEC and deploy them without further delay.

Mr Mwanza has however, thanked former republican President Edgar Lungu and the Patriotic Front administration for building schools across the school where the teachers will be deployed.
