NDC backs efforts to promote develop sexual harassment policy

Opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) faction President Saboi Imboela has backed efforts to promote the development of a sexual harassment policy in political parties.

During a recent workshop held by the Center for Young Leaders in Africa Zambia it was revealed that sexual harassment is one of the hindrances that prevent women participation in politics

Ms. Imboela notes that policies on sexual harassment are not only beneficial to women, but men as well.

She says sexual policies improve the quality of governance in a country as they help place the right people in the right positions due to their capabilities and not because of sexual favors

Ms. Imboela has since urged fellow political leaders to embrace the idea of the sexual harassment policy in political parties
