Minister of Youth, Sport and Art Elvis Nkandu says sustainable development is multifaceted in that it needs the involvement of all stakeholders both at local and international levels.

Mr. Nkandu says government is committed to partnering with all stakeholders to improve the livelihoods of youths in the country.

In a speech read on his behalf by Ministry Of Youth, Sport and Art Director Youth Development Davies Muunga at the handover event of a bakery to Lusaka Youth Resource Center by the Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints in Zambia, Mr. Nkandu says government has embarked on massive empowerment programs for the young people to improve their living standards.

He says his ministry is committed to bettering the lives of youths through skills training by establishing at least one youth resource center in all the 10 provinces of Zambia.

The minister says the bakery at Lusaka Youth Resource Center will go a long way in mitigating the challenges the youth resource center face as it will improve the teaching standards, production unit activities and income for the center.

Speaking earlier, Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints in Zambia President Harrison Lubambo says the church is happy to partner with government in its quest to improve the living standards of youths through its contribution to Lusaka youth resource center.

And Lusaka Youth Resource Center Manager Bridget Mumba says the good gesture by the church will help improve the production unit and training standards, thereby producing quality graduates that will henceforth contribute to both formal and informal employment.
