Child dies after a table fell on him at school

A four year old boy identified as Jonathan Kasongo died as a result of injuries he sustained after a table fell on him.

Deputy Police Public Relations Officer, Danny Mwale who has confirmed the development said the incident occurred on Wednesday this week at 14:40 hours at Damishal Christian academy school situated in Lusaka’s Libala area.

Mr. Mwale explains that preliminary investigations have revealed that a heavy table which was in the passage adjacent to the classroom fell on him while he was playing with his friends. 

He says it is alleged that pupils were playing in the same passage while waiting to be picked by their guardians. 

In another development an unidentified male pedestrian aged between 50 and 60 of unknown address has died on the spot after he was hit by a Higer bus.

Deputy Police Public Relations Officer, Danny Mwale says accident occurred yesterday at 17:30 hours near the Makeni Flyover Bridge in Lusaka.
