Republican Vice president Mutale Nalumango has stressed the need for Zambia to put in place measures that will help enhance early warning, resilience and preparedness for disasters.
Speaking upon arrival at the Kenneth Kaunda International Airport from Indonesia where she went to attend the seventh session of the global platform for Disaster Risk Reduction, Ms Nalumango says the Zambian delegation learnt a lot of lessons about disaster preparedness and resilience from engagements with countries such as Indonesia which have experienced disasters.
Ms Nalumango is optimistic that the lessons learnt from the meeting will help Zambia build resilience in disaster preparedness and early warning.
The vice president has since described her trip as fruitful and beneficial.
