ZESCO’s application to adjust connection fees doesn’t affect those who already applied

ZESCO Corporate Affairs Manager Dr.John Kunda says those who already applied for electricity connection will not be affected in the event that the Energy Regulation Board approves the upward adjustment in connection fees.

Dr. Kunda says the 60,000 applicants already have running contracts with ZESCO and the power utility will honor it’s part of the deal by connecting them under the current connection fees.

ZESCO has submitted a proposal to the Energy Regulation Board (ERB) to revise connection fees for new applicants from the current K769 to K4, 600 in high density, K1, 720 to K7, 000 for undemarcated high density and K2,873 to K13,300 in undemarcated low density areas.
