Veteran Politician Chifumu Banda has advised the new dawn government to ensure that it delivers on some of the promises that it can in the remaining two months to its one year in office.

Mr. Banda has charged that so far some members of the public feel disappointed with the new dawns performance as it has not delivered on some of its promises it said it would a few days or months as soon as it gets in office.

He is advising the upnd government that in the remaining period to its one year in office, it should try its best to improve on the cost of living especially, as this is the main area that all citizens are affected.

Mr. Banda says that failure to deliver on promises and harsh living conditions are the major reasons that previous governments lost favor from the citizens.

And the opposition socialist party on the Copperbelt says the alleged silence and the abandonment of the promises made to the people of Zambia by the upnd administration ,prior to the august 2021 general elections are too immense to be ignored.

Party Copperbelt Spokesperson, Joseph Kangwa, has recalled that President Hakainde Hichilema promised the people, that his administration was going to reduce fuel pump prices by 4-kwacha per litre but has failed to keep his word, as the same pump prices have soared more than three times, selling at an average of 24 kwacha-89 ngwee from 17-kwacha-72-ngwee per litre since he assumed office.

Mr Kangwa says although it is too early to insinuate that President Hichilema’s administration has failed to deliver, the current situation indicts the failure of the government to address the social and economic challenges facing the country.

He says he is fully aware that the subject matter cannot be solved overnight, but the fact is that the economic situation has worsened more than ever as the cost of living is on the increase every day and millions of citizens are complaining due to skyrocketing prices of essential commodities.
