The Zambia Tourism Agency (ZTA) says the African Union summit of heads of state and government to be hosted by Zambia in July this year is a golden opportunity for the country to be put on the world map as a tourist destination because all eyes will be on Zambia.

ZTA acting Chief Executive Officer,  Chavunga Lungu says Zambia is ready to host the AU conference and market itself to the rest of the world as a tourist destination.

Mr. Lungu says the Agency is already engaging with the private sector within the tourism sector to ensure they are telling a story about Zambia.

He adds that the agency is set to meet all stakeholders in the tourism sector to brief them on the value the summit will bring to Zambia’s tourism sector and the need for them to adequately prepare.
