Govt avails farm blocks for investment – Kakubo

Government has called for foreign investment in the one hundred thousand hectares farm blocks across the country to promote economic diversification. 

Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Stanley Kakubo made the call during the Annual Ministerial Briefing of the Diplomatic Corps in Lusaka today.

Mr. Kakubo says the new dawn Government remains committed to strengthening interaction and partnership with the international community, both at bilateral and multilateral levels.

He says this is in line with government’s pursuit of the economic transformation agenda aimed at providing a stable, credible and predictable environment for investments.

Mr. Kakubo has since called for foreign private sector participation in the various agricultural shows and exhibitions so as to promote growth in the agriculture sector.

And Mr. Kakubo says President Hakainde Hichilema continues to call upon cooperating partners to help curb the challenge of early child marriages in Zambia which has been exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic.

And in a vote of thanks delivered on behalf of the Diplomatic Corps, Ambassador of the State of Palestine toZambia, Dr. Walid Hasan who is also the Dean of the Diplomatic Corps has paid tribute to President Hichilema and his government for the efforts towards promoting transparency, unity and teamwork among other things.

Dr. Hasan has observed that under the new government, there is respect for rule of law, human rights, democracy and other freedoms.
