13 heads of state to attend 4th African Union

Thirteen (13) heads of state and government are expected to attend the 4th African Union Mid-Year Coordinating meeting to be held in Lusaka from 14th to 17th July, 2022.

Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Minister Stanley Kakubo says a further 800 dignitaries are expected to participate in the mid-year summit. 

Speaking when he officiated at the Private Sector breakfast meeting for the 4th African Union Mid-Year Coordinating meeting in Lusaka today, Mr. Kakubo says President Hakainde Hichilema has constituted an organizing committee comprising cabinet ministers to spearhead the hosting of the event and ensure it is a success.

He says the hosting of the summit is an opportunity for the country to showcase it’s hospitality and readiness to receive high level delegations from the continent.

And Mr. Kakubo has called on the private sector to consider supplementing government efforts in meeting some of the budget requirements for the successful hosting of the summit as well as work closely with government in ensuring that the upcoming summit is a success
