Operationalization of security cameras awaits trained officers

The Ministry of Home Affairs and Internal Security says operationalisation of security cameras positioned in strategic public places under the Safe City Project in Lusaka awaits the training officers to man the command center.

Public Relations Officer Nephas Chifuta explains that this is a high level technology security infrastructure which requires trained staff to man.

Mr Chifuta says officers cannot be deployed to operate such kind of infrastructure without equipping them with the necessary knowledge and understanding.

He notes that with the increase in the crime rate in the country, government is in a hurry to commission the security cameras to help bring sanity in the city.
