Civil Rights Activist Brebner Changala has challenged the new dawn government to tell the nation the way forward with regards district commissioners.

Mr. Changala tells Q-news that the UPND while in opposition categorically stated that once elected into government, they would abolish the position of the district commissioner as it was irrelevant.

He adds that the UPND made it clear that if the position of DC had to be maintained, it had to find its relevance in the civil service as it was a political position that was drawing resources from the treasury.

Mr Changala is therefore hopeful that President Hakainde Hichilema will abolish the office of the DC as he said he would while in opposition.
