The National Women in Politics Platform has called for change in the country’s legal system to encourage more women participation in politics.
Platform Chairperson Saboi Imboela says the commercialization of politics in Zambia has continued to be a stumbling block to women participation in the political processes.
Ms Imboela states that due to lack of money, most women have lost in the adoption process while those adopted are not very competitive in campaigns due to lack of resources.
She has also lamented that high nomination fees charged by the Electoral Commission of Zambia have acted as a deterrent to women participation in politics.
