Medici land Governance calls for sensitization on land titling

Medici land Governance, an organization that has partnered with government to introduce the appending of electronic signatures when acquiring a title deed has disclosed that over 85 percent of state land in Zambia is not on title.

Chief Executive Officer, Ali Hussein tells Q-news in a walk-in interview that there has been low uptake by land owners to have their land put on title in the country.

Mr Hussein notes the need for government to come up with sensitization programs on the importance of people putting their land on title.

He adds that only 50 percent of the 100,000 land owners offered offer letters so far under the national titling project have paid in full.

Mr Hussein has also revealed that the number of women owning land in the country is overwhelming standing at 56 percent.

He says these own land either as individuals or joint ownership.
