Minister of infrastructure, housing, and urban development Charles Milupi says Zambia is an over borrowed nation and the new dawn government has no appetite to borrow for infrastructure development but will instead utilize public private partnership PPP to undertake road infrastructure development as a model of financing road projects.

Mr. Milupi has disclosed that his ministry is currently investigating what could be done on the Sesheke Livingstone and Kazungula road which he notes with concern that it is almost in non existence form.

Speaking in an interview with Q-News Mr. Milupi says the ministry is also currying visibility study on what could be done on Katete Chanida road in eastern province.

He says the thrust that President Hakainde Hichilema is giving to the new dawn government is to enhance trade with neighboring countries as a base for growing Zambia’s economy.

Mr. Milupi says his ministry is therefore looking at improving and maintaining all interconnection routs with the neighboring countries which will facilitate smooth trade.
