Leadership movement media director, Tatila Tatila has called on the ministry of local government and rural development to ensure market boards are put in place to ensure councils are able to collect the revenue they are supposed to collect.

Mr. Tatila tells Qtv news that the councils will never realize maximum revenue collection from markets in absence of market boards.

He says the removal of party cadres from markets will amount to nothing with regards to revenue collection by councils as long as boards are not in place to supervise the running of markets.

Recently, local government service commission chairperson Ackson Sejani expressed disappointment that the removal of cadres from bus stations and markets has not resulted in increased revenue collection for the 116 councils in the country due to continued leakages in the revenue departments of these councils.
