The Medical for Quality Healthcare in Zambia says it anticipates an occurrence of what it terms as twin dermic outbreak, a situation where people are infected by both covid-19 and influenza, following the announcement of the influenza h3n2 that has broken out at the university of Zambia great east campus.
Organization Director-General, Quince Mwabu has since called on the government through the ministry of health to give the same level of attention it gave to the covid-19 pandemic to influenza and other diseases that affect the communities.
Dr. Mwabu fears that the rise in the number of disease outbreaks in Zambia will be of great impact on the health sector if immediate interventions are not implemented to curb these diseases
Dr. Mwabu has therefore urged everyone who is not vaccinated against covid 19 to quickly do so and those who got their first shots to finish up and get the booster shots of the vaccine to be fully immunized and follow the prevention guidelines accordingly.
