More than 30,000 persons with albinism in Zambia are in need of sunscreen lotion which is currently not available in the country.

Albinism and disability rights activist tells q news that the country currently has no sunscreen with the only available one being in pharmacies but is very expensive fetching at between k75 and k300.

Mr. Chiti  says a lot of skin cancer cases have been recorded across the country involving albinos because of lack of lotions that protects their sensitive skins from the sun, general bad weather and at times other lotions.

Mr. Chiti who is also a member of the Zambia police service commission is hopeful that the new dawn government will make the procurement of sunscreen lotion a priority and ensure that it is available in all government hospitals to be distributed to albinos for free.
