The media institute of southern Africa is concerned that even with the promise of giving the Zambian people the ATI bill, the united party for national development (UPND) government is picking on the delaying tactics of its predecessors by picking on consultations to delay the access to information bill.

MISA Zambia chapter chairperson dr. Barnabas Simatende says the ATI bill has had enough consultations from various stakeholders including various civil society organizations (CSOS) under the ATI coalition.

Dr. Simatende is concerned with the decision by the government through the ministry of information and media (mim) to take the ATI bill countrywide for consultations.

He says till to date governments have come and gone with the promise of enacting this bill but to no avail.
