solution to illegal mining is increase on resources and man power- Sinkamba

Green Party Leader Peter Sinkamba says the best solution to addressing illegal mining in the country is by increasing resources and man power to the ministry of mines for them to conduct regular inspections in all mining across the country.

Recently mines and mineral development Minister Paul Kabuswe announced that government will soon hold an indaba on manganese mining to find solutions to the increase in illegal mining of the mineral especially in central and Luapula Provinces.

The Minister also announced that government is working at legitimizing the illegal mining activities through the issuance of licenses.

But Mr. Sinkamba feels that one of the solutions to addressing the rampant illegal mining of different minerals in the country is by enhancing inspections in all mining areas.

He has however stated that for the ministry to effectively achieve regular and increased inspections it needs resources and man power.
