The Council of Churches in Zambia (CCZ) General Secretary Father Emmanuel Chikoya is urging the UPND new dawn administration to consider temporarily suspending some taxes in the fuel arrangements.
Fr. Chikoya says once this proposal for a tax break is presented to cabinet and finally implemented, it will bring relief to citizens and commercial entities.
He says the alternative is for government, through Energy Minister Peter Kapala to employ both short term and long term solutions.
Meanwhile Fr. Chikoya has noted with concern on how the government is giving out information which is in contrast to what is prevailing on the ground.
