Invest more in rural development, Chimembe tells govt

The Civil Society Organization Decentralization Alliance Network (CSO DAN) has advised the New Dawn Government to invest more resources into infrastructure development particularly the road infrastructure in rural districts.

Organization Interim National Coordinator George Chimembe says this will accelerate the Public Private Partnership (Ppp) in the districts across the country.

Mr. Chimembe has observed that improving road infrastructure in rural districts is fundamental and key in achieving decentralization which is being championed by the government.

He says the New Dawn Government must not make the mistake of pumping more resources in developing road infrastructure in urban areas at the expense of rural districts like the way patriotic front regime did.

Mr. Chimembe says such a move will defeat the aspect of decentralization as rural districts will remain rural and underdeveloped.
