Anti voter apathy executive director Richwel Mulwani has attributed the reported high voter apathy in the just ended Mongu mayoral by-election to people not attaching great importance to the by-election.

Mr. Mulwani has told q news in a telephone interview that a lot of people still feel that they voted already in last year’s general election and the main task of changing regime was accomplished.

He says this can be backed by the fact that the campaigns were conducted in a fairly peaceful manner; a situation which would encourage a lot of people to cast their votes without fear of electoral violence.

And Mr. Mulwani has stated that the development calls for people to know their rights and understanding the importance of democracy.
