MOH guarantees provision of equitable access to cost effective, quality healthcare services

Permanent secretary for administration in the ministry of health George Magwende has stressed the ministry’s determination to ensure provision of equitable access to cost effective, quality healthcare services as close to the family as possible.

Dr. Magwende says the new dawn government has placed premium on health promotion and prevention as opposed to curative care, where the public has early access to medical assistance, early detection and prevention of illnesses.

Speaking at an event marking the commencement of the Medland hospital health week aimed at raising public awareness of the importance of good health and well-being of communities, Dr. Magwende says the medical and health care institutions have proven that Africa is the frontline of health care innovation.

Dr. Magwende says the ministry of health upholds its mission to ensure provision of equitable access to cost effective, quality healthcare services as close to the family as possible.

He says Medland hospital has been contributing to the health status of people in Zambia and meanwhile making strategic partnerships with institutions across Africa to foster advanced health care in Zambia.

And speaking earlier Medland hospital chief executive officer Dr. Mohamed El Sahili says the event will among other things address the issue of how to strengthen health systems to implement effective control measures in curbing communicable diseases.
