Expect more seizures of properties suspected to be proceeds of crime-FIC

Financial Intelligence Centre (FIC) Acting Director General Liya Tembo says the country should expect to see a lot of arrests and seizures by law enforcement agencies to properties that are suspected of being proceeds of crime.

Ms. Tembo says since the centre does not have the authority to make arrests after conducting investigations, it passes on the intelligence to institutions that have the power to do so like the anti-corruption commission, drug enforcement commission and the Zambia police among others.

Ms. Tembo has disclosed to Qnews in an interview that the center is pushing for more action and the general public will see the results.

And Ms. Tembo has dismissed assertions that the Centre had received threats from anyone in 2022 and is operating independently.
