The Opposition Green Party has advised Director of Public Prosecution [DPP] Lillian Siyunyi to voluntarily resign instead of complicating her life and future.

Party Leader Peter Sinkamba has observed  that the Director of Public Prosecution [DPP] Lillian Siyunyi is in an unprecedented dilemma with only two options to either resign or enter nolles in all cases before her, brought by either drug enforcement commission or the anti-corruption commission where arrests were made without her instructions.

And Mr. Sinkamba has cautioned that that the constitutional implication of her letter to the DEC, in which she rebuked the Director General Mary Chirwa for carrying out an arrest of former Konkola Copper Mines Provisional Liquidator Milingo Lungu, is that no docket should be brought before her for prosecution of corruption and money laundering matters, if she has not given arrest instructions.

Mr. Sinkamba has told QTV news that this entails that if the DPP prosecutes matters where she did not issue arrest instructions, then she will not only be biased but also discriminatory which he said is  unconstitutional and illegal.

Meanwhile Mr. Sinkamba says the instruction by the DPP to the DEC Director General is not only inimical to public interest but also undermines the administration of justice, integrity of the judicial system, and an abuse of the legal process.
