Opposition patriotic front (PF) acting president given Lubinda has commended Russia for its efforts to bring the geo-political conflict to a close.
Mr. Lubinda has also called on all parties involved to support the position by Russia which has hinted for the war to end within three weeks.
in a statement obtained by q news, Mr. Lubinda says he is hopeful that the outcome of these efforts shall be a win-win for both Russia and Ukraine.
He says it is only a win-win situation for the two which can ultimately culminate into a win for mankind and for the entire world.
Mr. Lubinda says he is cognizant to the fact that the Russia/Ukraine negotiations are not an easy undertaking hence Russia should be commended for pursuing the route of dialogue in its quest to persuade the west to stop Ukraine from joining NATO.
He has urged all the players to respect and honour the minsk agreement and set a precedent that international agreements can indeed be honored.
And Mr. Lubinda says the Russia/Ukraine conflict has provided the world with a unique opportunity to realize that no country is above the other.
he has also reiterated that Zambia has been a member of the non-aligned movement on matters of international conflict involving competing interests between the western and eastern blocs.
