Opposition Golden Party of Zambia (GPZ) leader Jackson Silavwe has urged republican President Hakainde Hichilema to dialogue and engage china on debt restructuring.

Mr. Silavwe says much as president Hichilema and the new dawn administration maybe western centric, they cannot deal with china in a nonchalant way.

Mr. Silavwe states that it will be in the best interest of Zambia to maintain warm relations with both the west and china as there is a lot to learn from china in terms of lifting Zambians out of poverty.

He notes that china has been an all-weather friend to the people of Zambia with a continued demonstration of warm bilateral and multilateral relations with successive Zambian governments which the new dawn should maintain and enhance.
