Govt develops new guidelines of youth empowerment programs

Government through the ministry of Youths Sports and Arts has reviewed the implementation modalities of the youth empowerment programmes by developing new guidelines to ensure effective implementation of programmes.

Minister of Youth, Sport and Arts, Elvis Nkandu says this was after realizing the ineffectiveness of the previous interventions and alarming levels of youth vulnerability to social economic shocks.

Mr. Nkandu says the ministry has allocated K5 million in the first quarter of 2022 towards the timber value chain project.

He’s urging the young people in the timber value chain to immediately start applying.

And Mr. Nkandu says the national youth scheme has so far benefited over 2,000 young people in all the 10 provinces.
