LS-MFEZ declares over K1.2 million dividend

The Lusaka South Multi-Facility Economic Zone Limited has declared a dividend of over 1.2 million kwacha to the Industrial Development Cooperation and a profit before taxes of 4.98 million kwacha for the 2021 financial year.

And the zone has further recorded an investment total of 309 million dollars for the year 2021 against a cumulative of 567 million dollars from inception in 2020.

Speaking during the declaration of the dividend to I-D-C today L-S MFEZ board chairperson Gomeli Litana, says the achievements have not been without challenges and more so that the last two years where plagued by the corona virus which saw the withdrawal of approximately five investors.

Mr. Litana however states that the change in the country’s administration created more impetus for the zone.

He is therefore hopeful that the new dawn administrations discretionary consideration towards policies in the area of corporate tax and other tax incentives will be given as a way of accelerating investments.

Meanwhile, Industrial Development Corporation (IDC) Acting Group Chief Executive Officer Henry Sakala has assured that the dividend received will be put to good use especially in the areas of actualizing various national projects that are in the pipeline.

Mr. Sakala has called for deliberate strategies to be put in place by the zone to attract more investment and ensure that it becomes a game changer in the areas of innovation, manufacturing, industrialization and technological advancements
