Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) Secretary General Lucky Mulusa has resigned from his position without giving reasons.

MDC Vice President for Politics, Leonard Hikaumba says party leadership has since wished Mr Mulusa well in his future endeavors.

Mr Hikaumba says the MDC did not become part of the UPND Alliance because of being after jobs, but to ensure that the country is liberated from among other things, a broken economy, polarized country on tribal lines and misgovernment by the former Patriotic Front regime.

He says leaving the Alliance on account of not being given jobs by President Hakainde Hichilema is being petty.

And Mr. Hikaumba says the United Party for National Development led government has scored successes by fulfilling its commitment to create jobs as evidenced by the recruitment of 30,000 teachers and 11, 200 health workers.

Speaking at the same briefing, UPND Media Director, Ruth Dante has re-emphasized that the UPND Alliance is there to deliver on its promises to the people of Zambia.
