Investigative wings record warn and caution statement from GBM

Investigation officers from the Ministry of Home Affairs and Internal Security have recorded a warn and caution statement from former Defence Minister in the Patriotic Front government Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba.

Mr. Mwamba arrived at the ministry of home affairs headquarters for questioning around 09:00hrs and only left at about 15:10 this afternoon.

Speaking to the media shortly after emerging from questioning, Mr Mwamba who was accompanied by his lawyer Bonaventure Mutale, said he is yet to be informed about what charges will be leveled against him or what he is being investigated for.

Mr. Mwamba says his wife was interrogated for about one hour 30 minutes before he was called in for questioning until around 15:00.

He says he is ready to go to court because he believes he is innocent of whatever he is being accused of.

Mr Mwamba states that whatever is happening now was expected following a change of government.

Meanwhile, Ministry of Home Affairs Public Relations Officer, Nephas Chifuta says the ministry will avail the public with details surrounding the questioning of Mr Mwamba in due course.
