Speaking at a media briefing in Lusaka today teaching Service Commission Chairperson Daphne Chimuka says no application should be submitted physically to any government office or institution.

The Teaching Service Commission has advised applicants for the advertised 30,000 teaching positions to submit their applications to the District Education Board Secretary in the districts of their choice through ZAMPOST.

Mrs Chimuka says no application outside the Zampost data base will be considered.

She has also warned that applicants who will make multiple applications in different districts will be disqualified.

Mrs Chimuka adds that successful candidates will receive SMS notifications.

She has also disclosed that 10% of positions have been reserved for persons with disabilities.

Speaking at the same briefing, Examinations Council Of Zambia Director Dr Michael Chilala says the council will verify each and every qualification for this particular recruitment regardless of whether the applicant had verified their qualifications for other purposes.

Dr Chilala adds that the verification fee has since been reduced from k100 to k10.

And Permanent Secretary in-charge of Administration in the Ministry of Education, Noriana Muneku says all teachers who were recruited by government but were never put on the payroll will begin receiving their salaries ahead of the 30,000 teachers to be recruited.

Mrs Muneku however, states that among those teachers are some with fake qualifications and admission letters, hence the ministry working with other partners has been scrutinizing them and those who will be found wanting will be thrown out.

She has since advised those who got fake admission letters but have the necessary qualifications to take advantage of the net recruitment and apply so that they can stand a chance of getting employed.
