Zambia and Rwanda have signed seven Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) during the ongoing State visit of Paul Kagame, President of the republic of Rwanda.

In a statement obtained by Q-news, Presidential Spokesperson Anthony Bwalya says the legal instruments are part of Government’s ongoing efforts to rebuild the economy, create jobs and put food on the table.

Mr Bwalya says the instruments cover fisheries and livestock, agriculture, health, trade and investment, revenue authorities, development agencies and immigration matters.

He says during the ongoing State visit President Kagame and President Hichilema have held bilateral talks to discuss matters of mutual interest at bilateral, regional and international levels, including the great potential that exists for Zambia and Rwanda to increase trade between the two countries.

Mr Bwalya says the Zambian Government is also urging the opportunity to learn and share best practices in areas of information and communications technology, as well as the area of easing the cost of doing business.

He adds that the MOUs build on a long history of warm relations and previous bilateral agreements between the two countries.

President Kagame arrived in Livingstone for two day State visit this morning around 10:00 hours and was received by President Hichilema.
