The Ministry of Health has announced that it will open the submission of applications by health workers for another three days from Wednesday, 6th April to Friday, 8th April to accommodate those who did not manage to submit their applications.

Announcing the development at a media briefing, Health minister Sylvia Masebo says the ministry has decided to extend the submission period after receiving complaints from some applicants who failed to beat the deadline which was Friday last week.

And ministry of health permanent secretary in-charge of administration, Dr George Magwende says the ministry is considering promoting about 4,112 existing health workers across various disciplines.

Dr. Magwende says it has also been realized that optometry technologists had not been included in the list of those to be recruited and therefore an advert for them will be placed in the papers for a week.

He has reiterated that a multisectoral approach is being used for the recruitment exercise which is also being done in a transparent and accountable manner.
