President Hakainde Hichilema has noted with dismay what he has described strange conditions such as cooperatives being in existence for three years to be able to access the Constituency Development Fund (CDF).

In a Facebook page posting monitored by Q-News, President Hichilema who addressed the issue and other issues when he held a meeting with UPND party officials in Livingstone last evening says this is a deliberate ploy to block citizens from accessing CDF.

He says Cabinet has approved that this is not the way to go as it deprives those who were never allowed to do business in the past regime.

President Hichilema says his administration wants equity and this it will ensure.

He adds that during the same engagement with party officials he also stated that no one should be given a government contract when outside of the constituency, district or province.

The Head of State says the stay of contracts within these key areas will lead to local cash flow and that this is how the economy will be run going forward.

And President Hichilema has reminded party officials that the UPND won the 2021 elections because of all the citizens through UPND as a tool.

He since appealed to the party leadership not to destroy what they created and that is the UPND which is fighting so hard to unite and end lawlessness in the country.

President Hakainde Hichilema is in Livingstone ahead of the State Visit by Rwandan President, Paul Kagame.
