Lusaka Province health Director Consity Mwale doubts the ministry of health will be able to reach its target of having 70 percent of Lusaka province’s eligible population vaccinated against covid-19 by June this year owing to the drop in vaccine uptake.

Dr. Mwale tells Q-news that currently, only 22.7 percent of the eligible population in Lusaka province has so far been vaccinated.

She says the province is experiencing an extremely low vaccine uptake which she has attributed to community perception that the pandemic has ended owing to the low cases being recorded on a daily basis.

Dr Mwale has since urged the members of the public who are in the eligible bracket to get vaccinated as the risk of COVI-19 still remains high.
