The Ministry of Finance has developed a data capturing tool for monitoring progress on projects, programmes and services being provided by government through budgetary expenditures both through Central government and the Constituency Development Fund (CDF).

Finance and National Planning Minister, Situmbeko Musokotwane says this is about monitoring what the money disbursed is doing on the ground.

In a ministerial statement on the countrywide budget data collection tool, Dr. Musokotwane says the development of this tool is part of the effort that government is undertaking in ascertaining service delivery.

He says this information will also be used as a benchmark in resource allocation with regards to setting sector targets to be achieved in subsequent years.

Dr. Musokotwane says the ministry of finance will embark on collecting data in the education sector and thereafter rolled out to the health sector and other key sectors in the course of the year.
