A young software innovator is appealing for help from government through the Ministry of Technology and Science to help raise resources to complete his innovation of a website browser that he has developed to protect children from harmful vices on the internet.

Joshua Katebe, a former student at David Kaunda Technical Secondary School says the mobile website browser called Maple has been tailored to filter out any adult content that may be deemed harmful for children’s consumption.

Katebe says the innovation which is still at beta stage is already working, but needs financial support to have it uploaded on the mobile Google Play store for public consumption.

Katebe who demonstrated how the website browser is able to delete the user’s history every fifteen seconds to ensure all vulnerable data on the browser is safely protected has told Q-news in an interview that Maple will also come with other features that will make it easy for children to learn new things that are important to their academics whilst surfing the internet.
