Mr Chintala says this will help in reducing the cost of mealie meal production and subsequently the price of meal mealie on the local market.

Millers Association of Zambia (MAZ) President, Andrew Chintala has called on government to re-look at the price at which the Food Reserve Agency is selling maize to millers.

Speaking in an interview with Q- news, Mr. Chintala says the price at which millers are buying maize does not conform with other production costs, a situation which has led to the continued increase in mealie meal prices.

He notes that from the time millers started buying maize from the Food reserve Agency, the country has seen a slight stability in the price of mealie meal attributed to the availability of enough maize stocks in the country.
