President Hakainde Hichilema says the recruitment of the 11,000 health workers will focus on inclusiveness and will be done fairly.

Mr. Hichilema says jobs in the public sector must be available to all citizens across the country as this will also help reunite the country.

This came to light after president Hichilema engaged the ministry of health at the ministry’s headquarters in a quest to ameliorate the issue of critical drug shortage in health facilities across the country and the recruitment of health workers.

He says the meeting ironed out issues that may lead to misallocation medical staff as required on the ground.

Mr. Hichilema says the ministry of health is currently matching the health facilities across the country with the personnel need.

Mr. Hichilema says working in a multisectoral approach government will ensure the availability of drugs and timely dispensing of drugs in hospitals so as to ensure that people in need of medicines access them from the hospitals.

He is optimistic that going forward the ministry will not create new inefficiencies in the running of the health sector.
