UPND adopts Nyambe Muyumbana as Mongu Mayoral candidate

The Ruling United Party for National Development (UPND) has announced its adopted candidates for the Mongu Mayoral By-Election and two other local government by-elections in northern and southern provinces.

UPND Chairperson for Elections Gary Nkombo says the upnd has settled for Nyambe Muyumbana for the mayoral by-election which has been occasioned by the death of Nyambe Matakala who died in a traffic accident.

Mr. Nkombo also disclosed that losing candidate in the august 2021 Lukutu ward election in Northern Province Peter Chanda has been readopted following his successful petitioning of the election results.

He has said in a media briefing this morning that that the party has also settled for Brian Chingula for the Katimba ward in Monze District following the death of the sitting councilor.

And Mr. Nkombo has since urged the adopted candidates to work very hard and endear themselves with the electorate so that they can deliver victories for the party in government.

Meanwhile, Mr. Nkombo has urged the media and the police to remain professional in their conduct as they perform their duties in relation to the three by-elections.
