Govt urged to include the planting of fruit trees in tree planting initiatives

Head of Nutrition at the children’s section of the University Teaching Hospital Pharaoh Banda has called on the Ministry of Green Economy and Environment to include the planting of fruit trees in their tree planting initiatives.

Dr. Banda says fruits are very essential for good nutrition and having a variety of them planted across the country can help improve good nutrition levels in the country.

He has told QTV news in an interview that the initiative will be good for the country as it will go a long way to address the mitigation of climate change and nutrition at the same time.
