The Media Institute of Southern Africa (MISA) Zambia has learnt with shock and sadness the death of veteran journalist Swithin Hangala who was proprietor and managing director of Zambezi fm in Livingstone.
in a statement, MISA Zambia chairperson reverend Dr Barnabas Simatende says MISA is saddened that his demise comes at a time when the media industry in Zambia needs persons of his caliber.
Dr Simatende says Mr. Hangala was renowned for providing unwavering professional guidance to the media and his staff.
He says Mr. Hangala will be remembered for championing media freedom and freedom of expression.
Dr Simatende adds that his guidance and fatherly love for misa Zambia has left a very big gap which will take time to be filled.
He states that Mr Haangala who upheld professionalism in media, impacted this knowledge to his staff and those who interacted with him and therefore added value to the media profession in Zambia.
