Political leaders from different political parties today joined thousands of mourners in paying their last respects to fourth republican president rupiah Banda during a funeral church service at the cathedral of the holy cross in a rare demonstration of unity.

And new congress party president peter Chanda has described mr. Banda as a resilient and devoted leader who worked tirelessly for the wellbeing of the people of Zambia.
Meanwhile all people’s congress (APC) president Nason Msoni has lamented that the cold hand of death has continued robbing the country of a committed politicians.
Mr. Msoni says Mr. Banda was an approachable leader who took keen interest in transforming the lives of the people.
